The Story and Philosophy Behind Its Creation

The Ma&Mi brand hoodie was originally created as a uniform for us to wear at events.

The design was led by Ma-chan, and is deeply rooted in the philosophy behind our brand name:

"Material & Mind — the balance between objects, tools, and function,
and the heart, intention, memory, and spirit."

With this philosophy at its core, the hoodie was designed around three priorities:

• To live within time where both material and mind continue to grow

• To remain true and balanced on anyone, regardless of age, gender, or body type

• To be a piece of clothing that can be worn for many years, untouched by trends

Holding these principles above all else,
the hoodie was created as a single, uncompromising design.

Several years after we began wearing it,
Mi-chan had a quiet realization one day.

— He wore it every day, yet never grew tired of it.

Before he knew it, the hoodie had become more than just workwear.
It was the piece he naturally reached for on his days off as well.

Because it does not follow trends, it never feels outdated.
Because it does not assert itself too strongly, it never feels tiring to wear.

From there, a conclusion was reached.

"One design.
Long sleeves and short sleeves.
A dolman hoodie, in three sizes."

With just this,
it could be worn for years to come, carrying memories along the way.

This way of thinking keeps its distance from trends and consumer desire.
It is Mi-chan's characteristically opposite approach.

It is, in essence, Sigma thinking.

With that philosophy intact,
this hoodie is no longer something only we wear.
It is now offered to become part of your time as well.

Memories remain, growing alongside the clothing.

We do not offer in-store sales or keep items in stock.

• Delivery: Ships sequentially from early September
